I am planning to climb hopeful couloir (Mt. Hope) or box creek couloirs (Mt. Elbert) on Sunday May 29. I am looking for a climbing partner. I am a reasonably experienced hiker/backpacker but a novice mountaineer. I am from Houston and will be there only for the weekend. I want to use the short trip to get any experience I can. so my goal is to get out there and have fun in the snow and climb as much as I can. Since I am coming from sea level, it is possible that I wont be able to finish the climb. I am going to play it by the ear. If you join me, you are more than welcome to continue if I decide to retreat. Also, if you have any suggestions for other easy-moderate low-avy risk climbs in the area, please let me know.
