I really enjoyed the route. The crux really is handling the exposure. I thought the tower traverse was much freakier than the fresh air traverse (not to mention its right at the beginning)...

Yeah, we had a VERY memorable Canada Day/July 4th weekend! I really liked the trip report I posted too ;) It's called "Boas and Tutus on The Living Room Wall – First Ascent". Check it out and tell me what ya think :) More pictures from the Living Room to follow shortly...

I spent my weekend in a flu zone/cloud, occasionally interrupted by glasses of very fine wine and glimpses of wonderful people around me (and that butt ugly Luke Skywalker on the Craig's home theatre screen:). Don't remember being that sick for at least a decade. It could have been much worse though, staying in bed all weekend by myself... yuk!! Thanks to my beautiful girlfriend Etsuko, Craig, Alice, Bonita, Carolyn, Eileen and everybody else who encouraged me this past weekend. I think I will be able to climb something again in a week or so. You are all awesome!

Um, guys, I know this is slightly off topic, but is this what it feels like getting addicted to SP? I've already logged on here 3 times today... and I don't really have anything new to report since this morning.

The weekend was still kick ass though! Definitely no altitude headache from the living room wall, just the endless flow of good wine and Charles Mitchell port... I swear to god/goddess! I'm still recovering! I'm going to bed now to read Harry Potter before I get stuck on this computer much longer... Or before I derail this topic too much and get booted to the Prattle section.

Bonita, you made me laugh!

Welcome to the message boards!!!!

Eventually, you might settle down & become a lurker like me. I check in pretty much every day, but only post once in a while. Oh.... and I am wayyyyyy behind on posting photos.

We should start a support group for SP addicts.

Arpelistock (Bernese Alps) with some good friends. Easy but excellent.

I just answered the poll on the front page. I'm embarrassed to say what I answered.

Dumb question, but what is Cheyne-Stokes? My "death zone" is around 9800', that's when I feel totally winded and can hear my own heart pounding in my head. After I pass through and up to 10K, I'm fine.
This weekend at Temple Crag was a wonderfully beautiful experience with my life partner, I fell in love with that area by Third Lake and do believe that North Fork is now my favorite trail, eventhough chickadees were scarce. :) Although I was having heart palpitations all weekend, ran out of water, and really did hold my pee for 10 hours on the climb, I think I toughed it out pretty well.
Simul-climbing was the highlight but the post-climb mashed potato dinner in the tent is a close second!

Cheyne-Stokes breathing is where you slowly stop breathing, then suddenly start again with a few deep breaths that gradually return to normal. It's a common occurrance at altitude. Harmless. Often occurs in sleep.

Carolyn's new shoes look like they would be good in soft snow.
