This Al Jezeeera news article caught my attention, since I fall in love with this area every time I look at Afzal and Karrar's pictures and stories:

Thanks for the video, it's an update on one I saw a few weeks ago.

I've been through there at least four times each way in previous years, and to see it like this now is just incredible. There's now way to make a comparison in our own countries, as this is the only road through the entire region, and since its opening in 1986 it has never been affected in this way. Seeing those Toyota Coaster buses parked across rafted motor boats is freaky.

This is just north of the main tourist town on the highway, Karimabad, so it will affect the economy of the entire region this summer. Hopefully all those in the villages between the lake and the Chinese (Xinjiang) border are coping and getting the help they need.
