There's now way to make a comparison in our own countries, as this is the only road through the entire region, and since its opening in 1986 it has never been affected in this way. This is just north of the main tourist town on the highway, Karimabad, so it will affect the economy of the entire region this summer. Hopefully all those in the villages between the lake and the Chinese (Xinjiang) border are coping and getting the help they need.
