I just want to see what your alpine rack looks like. So Pics are encouraged, but descriptions are ok also! I want to see what else I would need if I started getting into alpine climbing. Right now I have a full free-climbing rack, so what else would I need? Im judging whether or not I can afford getting into this right now :P

I just bought a pair of BD Cobra ice axes (both adze) - I haven't received them yet but I am wondering if I can change out the adze for a hammer without having to exchange the whole tool. Anyone know if BD sells a replacement hammer I can just swap out? I've looked online but only found a replacement hammer sold in Canada and not specifically for the Cobras. Also wondering if the manual ...

What would be the ideal AT Ski set up for Denali?

I like maps. I like Quads, I like Charts, I like unfolding a big mapped version of everything I can see around me, rather than poking around a tiny screen. I like a big view.

However, apart form dragging a sextant up with me, I can't really get dead-nuts positioning on myself if I'm lost.

I'm dreaming of a GPS that spits out Altitude, Lattitude, and Longintude ONLY, and does it immediately when turned on. ...

Just curious the specials and discounts on gear that people are seeing around them.

The only real steal I can see is a small outdoor shop near me is having a 50% sale on all their ice tools on the 26th and 27th... Might pick up a set of Cobras for fun.

I notice Mark Twight bailed on that in 2008. Now I can't find any Grivel gear from American suppliers. I loves me my G12s and want to get a set for my climbing buddy.

Does anyone have the backstory on why Grivel pulled out of North America?
