I am looking at headlamps for hiking/climbing. They need to be good for both in camp activities and for night hikes/climbs. I currently have a tikka plus, which is good for in camp use, but I find it lacking for nightime when you need to see a good distance if front of you. I have on my list these headlamps:

Princeton Tec Apex
Mammut Luicido
Mammut X-zoom
Petzl Myo

Going in Jan or Feb. I already have:

-Mountain Hardwear's absolute zero mitten
-A basic TNF Gore Windstopper fleece style glove

I think I could benefit from something in the middle. Wondering specifically about either MH's Hydra or Medusa, or the BD Patrol glove (I can get a good deal on all).

Future mountains beyond Aconcagua could include Denali, Elbrus, Vinson, and maybe Himalaya (e.g., Island Peak, etc)

These are some pimped out mountaineering boots. They are Lowa Civetta GTX boots size 10.5 with goretex inner booties, originals included as well and glued on la sportiva gaitors. They have questionably been used. Have any big peaks in mind? I would like to get $150 for them. Shipping added if you need. If you're near SLC come get em. If you're interested lets talk.

Previously I used an Aarn pack with front pockets to hold my D300 and lens, so should be interesting to see how this system works out in comparison.

I am not quite sure how I am going to rig up for abeil/rappel with this on, nor how it will work ...
