Is it possible to summer ski in california in the Yosemite area? I'm planning a trip from SF to LA in June 10. Is there any snow left for backcountry skiing? By the way, I have no knowledge about avalanches...

I am planning on spending my spring break in zion this year with my girl friend, and am curious what conditions will be like last week of march first week of april.

I am interested in...

-hikes up to about ten miles

-canyons (we have wet suits, but not dry suits I think it might be a lttile cold still)
preferably not to technical, but a few raps would be ok.

-backpacking I am open ...

I'm heading up towards the end of Nov. I've been up there in late fall, but not winter. Anyone whos climbed it in winter before: what can I expect in terms of snow level/temp/conditions. Also what kind of pro did you take.

What are recommendations for mountains in late december? what is reasonable in a day. Can be from Lone Pine to Bridgeport.

Looking to do some hiking / peak bagging this winter season in the Northeast...

Have done a bunch of summer hiking in the northeast and have cimbed Rainier and Baker, but never used snowshoes in my adventures.

Anyone have thoughts? I'm relatively new to the board. Much reading, little posting. Thanks!
