Orizaba Avalanche Forecast

Wondering if anyone knows where one could get a report on the snow conditions for Pico De Orizaba? Do they even have avalanche forecasting in Mexico?

It sounds like they're getting unusually heavy snow right now due to hurricane systems and it has me a bit concerned about my November 17th/18th climb. Hoping things have settled by then. I'm a bit worried about the time it will take to do snow pit tests if necessary, ...

Help me locate some old photographs in southeast Europe

Hello,

I'm writing to you on behalf of a private collector who found three boxes of old glassplate photographs on a flea market in England. After some painstaking research, I established that they were taken by a couple of English alpine plant-hunters who, over several years between the late 1920s-early 1930s, visited the regions of Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Kosovo and Bulgaria. Alpine regions visited include: Durmitor, Rumija, Rila, Rhodope, Ljuboten, Prenj, etc.

I am ...

Cho La Pass, Himalayas, Nepal

Hi. I'm planning a trek in Himalayas in November and was trying to get a little off the completely beaten path of EBC trek. I am looking at Gokyo Lakes trek, including going over Cho La pass. Has anyone gone over that pass? Any feedback on level of difficulty?

Thanks.

Yunnan Province, China Peaks

OK, forgive the newbie. I am looking at taking my family to Sichuan/Yunnan China next June. We are not serious climbers, but we are looking to push our family record for highest peak bagged (would need to be 14,500 feet or higher). Any suggestions of any non-technical climbs we could do?

We are 18 and older, family of five, and very experienced backpackers.

Any suggestions deeply appreciated.

Corno Grande main summit

I will be in Italy and want to tag Corno Grande. Just wondering if it's technical at all? The page mentions "one step II" but I have no idea what that means

Trus Madi, Malaysian Borneo

Hi everyone

I am heading out to walk up the legendary Mount Kinabalu in Malaysian Borneo in the near future. While I'm there, I want to also bag Trus Madi. Most of it seems simple enough, I just can't find how to get to the mountain and if the mountain guide fee is a fee for the guide being on the mountain, or if it is a fee for the park to provide a guide ...
