MISSING - Lost Kids From CO (AZ Connection?)

I am posting this here in hopes that maybe someone can help my friend Aaron locate his son and his friend... They went missing from the trailhead for Psycho Tower in western Colorado on Sunday... His son's friend apparently used to live in Phoenix and it is thought that it is possible they may have tried to runaway to Phoenix, so I am posting to this board as well in case anyone in Phoenix or ...

Guadalupe Peak in November? Guadalupe Peak in November?

I expect to be out in TX this Nov... and figured I would try to add Guadalupe to list of HighPoints climbed....

At a little over 8 mile R/T... will the conditions 'on the ground' make doing this as a day trip not feasible / or too risky due to weather?

Any tips appreciated...

Vegas for work, Red Rocks for fun?

Hello,

I am going to Vegas today through Friday. What are my options for night hiking/climbing? I am going to be there through Friday. I am working a booth at a convention during the day. I can probably get away at night. I figure most people are going to hit the casinos- I should be able to get away into the hills.

I don't have a rental car, what are my options? I would love ...

Humphreys Peak in October?

I'm new to Arizona and am thinking about climbing Humphreys Peak the weekend of October 7th/8th. Obviously the weather is always unpredictable but generally speaking might there be snow to contend with by early October? I'm also planning on taking the Weatherford Trail. Any beta regarding the trail (or other peak/hike/climb suggestions) would be much appreciated!

Domestic Sheep near Wheeler Pk

This just in; if you see a domestic sheep sneezing or coughing near Wheeler Peak, ewe-thanize it immediately.

The possibility that domestic sheep may have come in contact with the Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep herd in the Wheeler Peak Wilderness has New Mexico Game and Fish Department officials ready to pull their hair out.

“It’s a very serious deal,” said Elise Goldstein, a bighorn sheep biologist ...

Windsor Trail (NM) conditions?

Hey all,

I was hoping to hike up to Lake Peak this weekend, and reading the SF Nat Forest closure from the Pacheco fire, it appears that Windsor Trail is open, but it is the boundary of the closure area (i.e. no bushwhacking to the north.) This should be OK, considering we only need to use the Windsor trail for the first 1/2 mile or so until we break off to the East to gain ...

If You Care About Red Rocks

There's a developer that's trying to put in a high density housing development that's bordered on three sides by the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. Specifically on Blue Diamond Hill.

The developer wants to ignore the 2 acre per unit limit that was in place at the time of purchase and put in high density housing, like up to 5,500 homes.

Climbers are banding together to protest any development. Email the County Commissioners before ...
