Backpacking and Wildlife

by psnyder06 » Mon Jul 25, 2022 1:48 am

Hello all, I’m new to the forum and fairly new to backpacking in general. I was told this was one of the better forums for backpacking insight. This will be my second year coming out to CO and I’ll be coming out in early fall. Last year, I primarily backpacked in the Crested Butte area. This year I’ll be primarily be in the area bounded pretty much between Glenwood Springs, Vail, Aspen and Breckenridge. Last year, I was disappointed in the amount of wildlife I saw, particularly elk and deer. I was hoping to pick the brains of folks who have been hiking in that general area recently to see what trails are getting the most wildlife action from those species. I’m flexible and not married to any particular part of that region or trail. Thank you very much in advance.
