I'm back. (LoL! I hope I will come back all the times  dude )
I couldn't make it not because of the hard work it need but I need 1 more day and I must be back at work on Saturday. so I left it for next month. but
It there is something I learned not to rely on weather forecasts:
WE HAD SNOW AND BLIZZARD !

we tried from the south route. After Poloor we start to hike. About 5:00 pm on first day we reached the Goosfandsara and stayed till morning. next day we went to "bargah 3" at about 4300 m and stayed for one more day due to acclimatization. At 3rd day, it was time for me to return because I should be on work for the next day. if I'd pushed the summit then 1 more day were needed. We made a mistake and thought our rent vehicle will take us to "Goosfandsara" but we were Disembarked far from "Goosfandsara" due to icey road and potential danger for rented minibus.

Been away from SP for a while. I started a new job and it's been busy. But since it's a new year, I'm making new plans. For now I'm thinking of climbing Damavand again, since I liked it. I will however take more time to do so.

Doberman, when I was there, the new cabin was far from being finished. They had already stopped working and I don't think they are up their right now in the snow and cold.

I'm currently looking into combining Damavand with Pik Lenin. I would however travel by train to Iran (to save me some money), climb Damavand and then go back to Tehran for a flight to Pik Lenin. It seems however to be quite hard to find flights. Especially since their websites aren't in a language I understand. I'll be starting a new topic soon to get some help on that one. I'll most likely be solo again, so if anyone is interested... .

The building is finished but do not offer any service yet. (cause of the snow)
we spent a night at the old little hut.

Anyway if you are coming back WouterB, you will see a quite different face of Damavand !

From 4000 m to up l will be surprize to hear about avalanche in Feb. There is no snow, it's just rocks & pure ice (cause of winds). I think general consideration is enough but I'll ask pro guys to ensure.

I had some snow and I'll actually follow what Neghafi said. Since there is SO much wind, I don't think you'll have to worry too much about avalanches.

In winter wind blows more severely than you experienced wouterB.
Some days ago, Hossein Abolhassani had a foot wrist breaking accident on Damavand.
