Hiking Mansfield in November

by tujumbo13 » Sun Nov 15, 2009 7:32 pm

I was just wondering if anyone has ever climbed Mt. Mansfield in late November, or if anyone knows what the difficulty would be. Specifically, are crampons necessary?

Guess it would all depend on how much (if any) precip has fallen. My only reference was a climb in January, and crampons were a necessity that particular year. Personally, I would rather carry the gear and not need it than to need it and not have it. YMMV
