Good spots to camp near the base of these 14ers? Mummies?

by ColoradoLawDobe » Tue Jun 22, 2010 3:54 am

Hello all, I am looking for a good place to camp near the trail head of the "standard" routes for these 14ers: Mt. Elbert, Mt. Evans, and Mt. Massive. I would be camping on Friday nights if that makes any difference. Also, has anyone knocked out all of the peaks in the Mummy range in one day? I was thinking of camping at Lawn Lake and trying to get them all in one long day, any thoughts or experience? Thanks!

There are tons of campsites that are nice along the road heading up towards the east slopes route of Elbert. Not sure about the Mummies, Evans, or Massive - good luck!

If coming up Half Moon Road, wherever you camp for Elbert would be the same for Massive.
