WTB: Petzl Quarks

by mtndonkey » Fri Aug 12, 2011 5:04 am

I know it is probably a long shot but looking to pick up the new quarks if anyone is willing to part with them. I figured I might as well give it a shot before paying full retail.

HOLY SH*T indeed! I think I may have pooped myself a little bit now from all the excitement. Thanks for posting this, I just ordered two tools and bought an adze as well since the sale is only for the hammers. Even with buying the adze separately it only cost $325 out the door for everything.

It's like Christmas in August, now I just need to to ask my wife if I can buy them before they arrive at the front door :)

Well, looks like I am back in the market again. Moosejaw has an inventory discrepancy and I just found out the Quarks are out of stock even though they are still up on the site.

I've got some Quarks from the generation before this current. I could use an up-grade. PM me if you're interested.
BTW, I love the Quarks, I'm just snotty and want something newer.

Thanks for the offer Deb; I ended up ordering a new set last night. I didn't care if the tools were brand new, but definitely wanted the new model and in time for Sierra Ice season. I figured it was a long shot to pick up a set on here as it seems everyone loves them and wouldn't be parting with them so soon. At least with my REI visa I'll get 15% back on my purchase so it takes the edge off a little.

"but definitely wanted the new model "

Good choice, basically a detuned Nomic and a good bit better all around tool than the old Quark. Now you just need a better set of hammers for your new Quarks :)

Heads up: if you find a low price advertised on a webpage, most companies will honor the price while the webpage is still up. There may even be a law enforcing this, but I'm too lazy to go look for it. Basically, if the page is still up, call the company if you can't order online (or chat them), and they will probably give you the low price without hesitation. This has happened a couple of times on backcountry.com for me.

This is true, Also, I never buy from moose-jaw anymore, I have had several bad experiences with them and will not buy from them again.

Hermitshut.com has a sale on the grivel matrix techs. This is where I got mine. Their service is very good.
