Summit quiz #11 - answer: Trettachspitze

by Nikman » Fri Aug 08, 2008 9:51 pm

Since #8, #9 and #10 are solved already, here's a new one.

Inspired by Gabriele, who started with more difficult ones. I think and hope this is not too easy.

Sorry, too easy :) The mountain rises 511m above the hut that is hidden by the rock in the foreground.

Not easy IMO! Looks a bit like Triglav but I'm pretty certain I'm wrong with that.

Less vegetation to be in Kaisergebirge...

maybe something in Aosta or southern MB-Range?

rock looks like a kind of limestone, so Eastern Alps (very Eastern) or Prealps ... I think

Isn't the norther Paradiso Group also made of limestone? I mentioned there Monte Emilius etc...

Looks a little bit like this area.

But I don't have really an idea.

Around Brenta Group?

Maybe Niklas is giving a hint which country it is.

I'll answer for Nikman:

No Triglav, no Kaiser, no Aosta valley nor Mont Blanc.
Gabriele is right with the Eastern Alps, but not very Eastern and also not Brenta.

the kind of rock is very similar to the one of the S part of Pale di S.Martino, but I don't remember having been here ... I think this is not in Italy

so, out of my knowledge ... thought Kaisergebirge but in the photos I studied (many years ago) about Fleischbank, Totenkirchl and Predigtstuhl the rock looked more compact ... Ellmauer Halt ...

No, different numbers, according to the SP page of the mountain.
That is an advantage of this quiz that we learn about unfamiliar areas :D

That would be the key - because the mountain is the most prominent rocky peak of its group.
