NOt completely sure of the location of Timberline trail, but descended the S side route last Friday. Snow down to about 5,500 ft., & at the resort all the way down to the lodge. If the trail happens to pass below snow-ice-covered cliffs, be very wary! Rime-ice-coated summit rocks were shedding the stuff like crazy throughout the afternoon (there are several debris chutes across the face that attest to this), while Steel Cliff had numerous large rockfalls throughout the same time. Depending on your start time & expected temperatures, snow can be very slushy- upon our return in the evening (above the ski resort), there was a good amount of post-holing. GOod luck & hope that this helps.

The Timberline trail does not usually become snow free until August at best. Right now, most of it is still snow bound. Plus, the Elliot creek crossing is closed because of a glacial cock-up a few years ago. You could ascend to the moraine and cross at Langille crags to avoid this, but it will be on snow most of the way this time of year. Bring skis.
