If you want more background on these photos in particular, and Yosemite in the 60s in general, Steve Roper's book "Camp 4: Recollections of a Yosemite Rockclimber" is a great read. Some of the pictures on Denny's site made it into Roper's book.

Heh, when I saw the thread title, I thought you were ref. to the weather. Close to 60 degress F. right now...sucks to be at work sometimes...
And second the Roper book, it's a great read. Denny's photo book is awsome as well.
