and atristic. Great timing to get a kiss of snow on the waves. And, to add a person, who seems to be a little cold, into the mix makes this photo extraordinary.

It's cross bedding in Sandstone.

The sandstone was formed from huge petrified sand dunes. Each time they migrated, shifted or had more sand blown on them became another layer which is why there are so many colors (the deeper the red the more iron oxide) and layers. Later the petrified dunes were exposed by erosion. The white is a dusting of snow.
