A fantastic settingcaptured with a keen eye.
However the impression is less favorable when looking at the pic in its original large size, here it suffers a lot from, I guess, digital zoom.

Re: A fantastic settingThank you for thinking that I have a keen eye. Unfortunately I am not a photographer and I don't know the first thing about cameras. I just point and shoot. But, I appreciate your comment.
cheers,
Marc

Wow!I go here every year with students on a school field trip but don't think that I've ever gotten a picture quite so grand in feel! I've always enjoyed seeing the desert with snow, though.

One look and I'm sold on itImmediately caught my attention. Filled with every type of contrast - the foreground rockforms so constrasting and complimentary to the background, and their intricate shadows show such detail. And the foreground has lovely textures.
Well, it could be from another galaxy.
Needs an 11 vote.
Nice, Ray

Re: One look and I'm sold on itThank you so much, Ray. I am speechless. You are seeing a lot more in this photo than I did when I took it. I had the afternoon sun, the snow on the ground and clear skies on my side. All I had to do was to point the camera and shoot.
Thank you for the wonderful comment, Ray.

Re: One look and I'm sold on itYou are welcome:
I seem to be doing quite a bit of appraisal on the site. I'm new here, but have never seen so many superb photos. People tell me that I have an eye for detail. Well until recently, I've been involved in producing integrated circuits, whilst I climbed in the grand scale of the Apennines. Though mainly, left-handers are supposed to have a highly pictorial mind. I think entirely in pictures, then feel the emotion. When I feel emotion, I see. Anyway, I'm thoroughly enjoying the site and finding virtual friends, instead of just the sheep across the fence in my small village. Mainly, I'm realising that, despite having been to 28 countries, I've much more to see.
Cheers, Ray
