A great cpatureI bet your dog wasn't anywhere close for this little guy to runaway.
Happy climbing.

Re: A great cpatureSadly, our dogs weren't with us for this short weekend trip -- they were back at home. I'm sure the fox wouldn't have been so calm otherwsie.

Re: NiceThanks. We saw another fox the following day in Grand Lake as well. It's clear that they, and the bears in the summertime, have no issues finding food in town.

Re: WhatThanks. You usually only see foxes for a few seconds before they're gone. It was neat getting to watch this one for several minutes.

I used to live...... in Granby. Grand Lake is a beautiful area, full of wildlife. I loved it!
We used to have a regular family of fox that we were able to watch.
Great shot!

Re: I used to live...That was our first time in that part of Colorado. Great area. Next time we'll head into the Indian Peaks Wilderness. We avoided it that weekend because it was the last weekend of elk hunting.

beautiful poseI rotated it in as the profile shot for the Canidae page; the small size doesn't quite do it justice but I hope people see it.

Re: beautiful poseThanks! Based on the tracks we saw, the foxes (and coyotes) are very active and abundant in that portion of RMNP.
