Fairybell flowers

Fairybell flowers

Rough-fruited fairybells (Disporum trachycarpum) are relatively common in mid-elevation forests of the Wasatch. Both modest greenish-white flowers and immature fruit typically escape hikers' attention, but once the rough-skinned berries finally turn orange and red, they become the brightest spots on the forest's floor. 6/7/2008
