A Catskill Gem

If you haven't been to Kaaterskill Falls, well have you really been to the Catskills? Kaaterskill Falls is an immensely popular destination for those wishing to see a great waterfall, with little effort. It's a short hike from the road that rewards you with some great views. I've always seen the parking lot for this mobbed on weekends, so one weekday I stopped by, because I too was curious to see the famous waterfall of the Catskills. The falls have a lot of history as the famous painters, like Thomas Cole, of the Hudson River School often made it a subject of their paintings. It's the highest two tier waterfall in NY State.
