Hiked up Lewis Creek and camped high above Frypan Meadow at about 9000 feet near Lewis Creek. Next day passed Lewis Lake and climbed ill defined rib on northwest side of southwest ridge. Terrible snow slogging between rock outcrops. Steep thin windboard over a less than consolidated subsurface. Had to battle for every foot of elevation gain. The magnificent view at the summit almost made me forget the miserable snow climb. Descended via southwest ridge/ south slopes to Kennedy Pass Trail.
Started at Deer Cove and made good time to Frypan Meadow. Set up camp and continued on to Kennedy's summit. Snow from about 9000 feet. Spectacular weather and views, very warm though. Lewis Creek had swollen a bit for the return. Climbed Harrington the next day.
