Magical view towards the Ecrins Alps. You can see Aiguille du plat de la Selle (3596m) in the front right. In the background, left, Ailefroide (3974m) is visible. The summit with a glacier on top is Les Rouies (3589m) (background, middle-right) The sky was really beautiful dark blue that day. It was a great view! Picture taken from around 3500m at the Mont-de-Lans Glacier, Les 2 ALpes Picture taken: February 2007

You captured a special moment

This and Rahel's panorama view of Hohberghorn are the two best panoramas on SP in my opinion. Thanks for posting!

Thank you very much for your nice words Paul! I was very lucky with the weather, scenery and clouds that day! If you ever get the chance, visit the Les 2 Alpes glacier in the French Alps, and you probably can enjoy views just like this!

Like it has so much life and energy, suddently I can get a lungfull when right at my desk.
Nice tiered features of sharp snow, dark rock, background and fab clouds in a great blue.
