| After Lyell we traversed to Maclure and ascended to the summit ridge early. We were rewarded with an airy traverse. It was more fun than if we had ascended the main gully which we used on our descent. Trip Report. | |

| A nice rock scramble after coming off Lyell. Views were spectacular, got caught in a brutal thunder/hail storm on the way out. Sierra Challenge 2006(alt peak). | |

| Came from our camp below Donohue Pass, crossed the Lyell Glacier to the Lyell-Maclure col and summited Mt. Lyell first. Then back down to the col and picked up Maclure's SE Ridge to the top. I remember having to do a lot of boulder hopping at the beginning of this route, but towards the top the narrow rock ridges created some fun. | |

| Quite a bear to dayhike in combo with Mt Lyell! Day #2 of the Sierra Challenge. The class 3 scramble along the knife-edge ridgeline was fun, but the talus slog to get to it was a pain - perhaps it would have been better as a spring snowclimb/scramble | |

| Camped in the canyon downstream from the Ireland Lake Trail. Hit Lyell earlier in A.M. Climbed SE Ridge Rt. and descended the South Face Rt. Then headed over to do Donohue Peak before descending down Kuna Creek to camp. Great day. | |

| My party of three summited Maclure after being thwarted by the exposure on the East arrete of Lyell to the bergschrung. Great climb!! A bit of exposure, but nothing technical. I would rate it a solid class 3. | |

| Left Reno, NV early in the AM, drove to Tuolumne, and started walking. Arrived on the summit early pm, and decided I didn't have time for Lyell. Bad mistake. Now I have to do the approach again. Headed for the car, arrived at dusk, drove home. 26 or so miles, coupled with 6 hours in the car, long day. | |
