I did this hike on a warm but not too hot perfectly clear day. So did a lot of other people. Nice views though. I could see from Shasta to North Sister.

This peak was interesting because it is the 22nd most topographically prominent peak in Oregon, with 3,018+ feet of prominence. It was an Oregon "50 Finest" weekend, with three on Saturday and two more on Sunday, Mt. Scott and Mt. Bailey. Up in 53 minutes.

This was a great ski trip with excellent weather and views. Skined up the south east ridge until it met the flat summit ridge. The SE ridge kept getting steeper until we had to carry our skis the final pitch over rocks and trees. The snow was soft enough to have a great ski down the east face through trees and finally the Scott creek drainage back to camp.

Climbed and skied with a group of Chemeketans. There was snow all the way down to the 4500' level, so we started by first carrying our skis, then skinning to a camp at 6200'. The next morning we left the road and headed towards the ridge, eventually meeting up with the S. ridge which we followed to the summit. Interesting summit ridge and incredible views of Crater Lake on a beautiful warm day. Great spring skiing down the east face where we followed an avalanche runout into the woods, generally following Scott Creek until meeting up again with the road.

Mt. Scott has been eating at my climbing partner ever since we did McLoughlin, so we decided to nail it this weekend considering we were in the area. We hiked up Garfield Peak and The Watchman first, though. Quick hikes. The park guide estimates times for the hikes but if you've got any kind of conditioning under your belt you'll be able to get up and down the peaks in half the time. We summitted Scott in an hour. The summit was ours. Until, yes, the group of Euros finally made it. Crater Lake is awesome. I can't wait to get back there when it snows(hint, hint, Corny). The jaunt down to Cleetwood Cove is definitely worth it. Beautiful fire red sunset. What a weekend!!! :-)

Decided to stop by Crater Lake on our way back from Gearhart and explore all of the trails that were closed due to snow the last time we were there. Hiked up Garfield and The Watchman, then up headed up Scott. Very nice hike to the summit. Beautiful warm sunny day. Actually had the summit to ourselves for over a half an hour before a Euro group of ten in tight jeans, Doc Matens, and styled hair joined us. One of the girls even had a purse.....we got the hell out of there! The best view in the park, could see all the way to Jeff in the North and well past Shasta to the south. Bombed back down the trail and drove around to the Cleatwood cove trail. Hiked down to the lake and watched barefoot as the sun fell below the crater rim. Perfect end to a great weekend!

Hiked up and ran most of the way down. Good views but I couldn't fit all of Crater Lake in my camera's viewfinder.

Fun time. My tallest peak to date, since I'm more of a hiker than a climber. Nice day- a few clouds in the sky and 60 degrees. Just as I expected, it was crowded at the summit, but still a good hike.

Easy trail. Lots of people. Crowded up top. Views were hazy due to the nearby wildfires but this would be an awesome sight on a clear day. Could still make out Thielsen and Bailey to the north but could not even see Mt. McLoughlin to the south. It got worse as the next day while driving out, I couldn't even see into the lake from the rim due to the smoke. Still though, this is one spectacular park.
