| Windy and cold at the top. Great views- we could see the Tetons 75 miles to the south. There were bighorn sheep on the trail, grazing a few feet away as we passed. | ||

| A fun, easy to follow, busy trail in September. Saw one black bear and ran into many other hikers who had seen more bears. Splendid views from the top. | ||

| distressbark | great hike ![]() Date Climbed: May 31, 2007 | |
| Hiked with two friends from Dunraven Pass parking area on a cold, windy May day. Even though it was very cloudy, we could still see the Tetons far off to the south, some 75 miles away. Fantastic views throughout. This hike spurred my interest in scrambling/climbing more difficult mountains, to which I'll always be grateful! Also climbed from Dunraven Pass on 5/28/09 with my girlfriend Becky. Snow was definitely an issue, but never encountered any dangerously steep patches. Summit views were quite clear, and the views were of course spectacular. | ||

| woodsxc | Family hike ![]() Date Climbed: Jul 17, 2001 | |
| At the time, it was my highest peak and I had such a sense of accomplishment. It was July and there were still snowbanks on the trail at some of the higher elevations which amazed and amused me and my brothers. Washburn was a fun hike and one that challenged me without putting me in over my head. Beautiful views on top. | ||

| No much mountaneering here, but there is a very nice view from the top and we saw a huge male grizzly on the way up: http://www.brdr-damgaard.dk/jesper/Ferier/2005/2005_USA/pics/D15_03e.JPG I made sure, I wasn't the slowest guy amongst all the spectators ;0) | ||

| Tom Fralich | Yellowstone Day Hike ![]() Date Climbed: Aug 13, 2007 | |
| Mary and I did a day hike over Washburn while we were passing through Yellowstone on our way from the Tetons to Devils Tower. We arrived in the park late in the afternoon on Aug 12 and hiked to Lone Star Geyser, just in time for a major eruption. The following day we did the hike up Washburn, starting at Dunraven Pass and continuing on the North Spur trail past the hot springs to the Canyon (where we hitched a ride back to our car). We saw lots of bighorn sheep on the grassy ridge on the descent from the summit. | ||
