I bought these socks to replace my smartwool mountaineering socks and have been very pleased. They seem to insulate more and take up less space. The alpaca wool is very comfortable. I also enjoy that they pull up to just below the knees (very nice in extreme cold). I wore these on Longs last February and did not have any cold feet issues. These are excellent socks.
