"Ice World - Techniques and Experiences of modern Ice Climbing" by Jeff Lowe
Product Description
Jeff Lowe, an internationally renowned ice climber, discusses the history of, technique and equipment for, ice climbing, and shares his personal experiences on a number of climbs.
Review
While some of the equipment discussion might be considered dated (the book was published in 1996), and climbs that were at the time cutting edge (e.g., Octopussy at M8) have been surpassed, much of the climbing advice is still useful, and the history and personal stories Lowe relates are fascinating. The photos in the book are by themselves worth the price of the book - they make you want to go out and find some ice to climb right now!
