I love this jacket. I wear it everywhere on trips to the store to the backcountry and summits. For a soft shell I was surprized to find pit zips, I love them. When the going its tough, I vent. It breaths so so, likely because of the Windstopper material. It does block wind extreamly well, and sheads precipitation equally well. The waist sinch closes through the front hand pockets, strange design but it works. There is an inside security pocket. Found this at REI for only 175 late winter 04.

Bad stuff: No hood, I'd rather carry the extra wieght but wasnt willing to buy the Arx Terx hooded softshell for a mild 350!!!

A very nice soft shell. I'm not sure but I think my MH Alchemy is warmer. I do however love the pit zips the Sharp Point offers.

Great Buy
This soft shell has become a standard addition in my pack on nearly any trip. The light weight of the jacket allows it to be packed fairly easily, but the range of features lends itself to be worn in a variety of circumstances (the pit zips and windproof fabric are a great combo). I have used it for layering in colder conditions and as a sole jacket in milder weather. It also looks good enough to wear around town.

A great buy which can often be found below the MSRP of $250
