This fleece is bomber in design. I have had it for two years and wear it just about everyday. I climb in it, party in it, and sleep in it (on cold nights in the mountains). Thanks to a few of my friends cigaretts and camping fires it has a few holes but none penetrate the Windstopper membrane. The zippers have all worked flawlessly and pit-zips are great for those days when it is too cold to take off but too warm to leave on. The fleece has held up great to the constant wearing of backpacks and I can't see why anyone would ever buy a jacket with reinforced areas that only add weight. The fleece has become somewhat matted on the elbows and a very tiny hole has shown up in one, no big deal considering the abuse that has gone into the item. The stiching on the trim around the strech panels has also come undone because I overstretch it; of course a little thread and needle patched it right up. I don't think I will ever buy another fleece because of the weight and low compressibility they have but I also can't see myself climbing in my insulated jacket made of thin nylon. So when it comes time to retire my Marmot jacket I will gladly welcome Schoeller as the alternative.
