Overview
Peak H forms the Southern terminus of the Ripsaw Ridge. It requires the longest approach of all Ripsaw summits. Unlike its siblings Peak H's summit can be conquered without getting into Class III/IV.
Getting There
Only viable trailhead is at Piney Lake - getting to Peak H from the Black Creek Draynage or the Slate Creek Draynage would be very long and tedious undertakings.
Get off at Exit 176 on I 70 - go west and turn on Redsandstone Rd, which turns into Piney Lake Road. Most of it is dirt road, can be a bumpy ride, but makeable for a normal sedan - just take it slow.Park outside the reserve gate to your right.
Red Tape
You will enter a pristine area - tread lightly and leave no trace.
You will hike most of the time in the Eagle's Nest Wilderness Area - please abide to all rules and regulations
Eagles Nest Wilderness Regulations
Camping
Plenty of sspace for camping in Upper Piney Valley and in the Black Creek Draynage.
