Climbing Mt Mansfield this Friday 10/20/17

by northerncomfort » Wed Oct 18, 2017 1:33 am

Hello,

I'll be in VT this week and was thinking of climbing Mt. Mansfield this Friday. I'm having trouble finding any recent trip reports. What sort of conditions can I expect? I'm not comfortable doing this if an ice axe is required, but I imagine that I don't need one yet. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Just saw this, but I hope you went up. Would have been sunny and super warm - in the 70s in the valley - with some lingering fall color.

Northern VT did see a snow flurry several nights ago, but in the daytime it's been summery conditions all week.

Hell, go today if you can. Last day of ridiculously sunny weather before a few days of clouds starting tomorrow.
