Overview
Piz Languard is an Enganidina mountain near the border with Italy. From its peak is possible to admire a wonderful scenario of Piz Bernina and the mountains of its range like Piz Palù. A nice possibility is to reach the region by Bernina Express, a fantastic mountain train that from Tirano (I) leads Saint Moritz (CH) through Bernina pass (for the path to Piz Languard: station Pontresina). Reach this mountain is easy and a you can sleep near the peak in the refuge Chamanna Georgy: 24 beds, open only in summer, Tel.hut: 0041 (0) 81 833 65 65.Getting There
In Engandina on the way from Tirano (I) or from Livigno (I) through Bernina mountain pass leads Saint Moritz near Pontresina, there is Punt Muragl (1738 m) there is the railway station that go up to Muottas Muragl. From here you have to cross Val Muragl direction South-east. you go down until Margun 2338 m. and then go up along the river: cross the river to come back in the Val Bernina side near Chamanna Segantini 2731 m (refuge not to sleep, only drink and food). Again to South-east crossing the Piz Muragl and Piz Languard foot (south-west). Under this peak take to left the path that through South ridge leads the refuge Chamanna Georgy (3186 m. - private). From the refuge in about 20 minutes through a ridge to the peak (easy (walk up) - difficulty E until the refuge - EE from the refuge to the peak).Another possibility:
Muottas Muragl - Alp Languard
There is a 7km high-altitude trail that leads from the Muottas Muragl mountaintop station (2,453m) via Munt da la Bês-cha (restaurant) to the Alp Languard chair-lift station (2,330m).
Munt da la Bês-cha means sheep’s mountain
» Walking time is about 2.5 hours.
It is perfectly possible to walk the trail in the opposite direction (from Alp Languard to Muottas Muragl). However, it is less attractive in terms of the views.
‘Round-trip hiking tickets’ (including transport from Punt Muragl up to Muottas Muragl and from Alp Languard down to Pontresina) are available.

Alp Languard – Piz Languard
This trail starts at the Alp Languard mountaintop station (2,330m) and leads across open slopes to Piz Languard (3,260m), a well-known lookout point (with views of the Bernina, Ortler, Silvretta and Kesch mountain ranges).

From June to September. Check if the refuge is open before to leave. Is possible find some snow on the path between the refuge and the peak but this is not a problem because is not expeosed and there are small rockes on which you can walk. Looking for reach the peak in others periods required alpinism equipment (ice axe, crampons..).Refuges and Campings
