Overview

The Pizzo Filone, also called "Al Filòn" in the local dialect; is a pyramid shaped mountain with 3 sides, located in the area between Livigno Valley and the Val Viola.

It is one of the highest point of the area with Piz Paradisin 3302m and Corna di Capra 3133m.

It appears with a good looking shape from every sides. From northeast above the "Vallaccia", from west with steep slopes on the "Valle delle Mine", and from south with rocky cliff overhanging the "Val Viola".

Pizzo Filone doesn't offer important climb routes, however it's placed in a very nice and panoramic position; recommended in early spring when climbed on skis as the photos show.
