Piz Palü from Piz Bernina

This shows the west side of Piz Palü from the summit of Piz Bernina. While less impressive than the north face, it's still a nice mountain. On the Piz Palü traverse from west to east, coming from Refugio Marco e Rosa, this is what you'll have to overcome first. And that was exactly what we planned to do the next day!

Fortunately, these clouds were not the first sign of trouble. The weather stayed fine for the rest of our trip.
