| Slog up the south slope (a bit better by keeping close to the ridge) before dropping over to climb Feather Peak. Climbed Bear Claw Spire, Merriam, Royce, Feather, 12918, and Spire Peak over the weekend. | |

| Thought we were outsmarting the weather with a morning climb, but we barely tagged the summit (BOTH of 'em since we weren't sure) before being chased off the ridge by the electricity in the air. Looked for a register on both but didn't find anything - admittedly we didn't look very hard or long once the crackling started. At 10 am. | |

| Climbed a third-class chute on the east face, to the right of the one I believe is described in Secor. Fun climbing throughout. Didn't see a register on any of the summits, but didn't look too long as lightning was striking over Seven Gables and the wind was heading it my way. Lots of snow descending from Merriam-Royce col, so I'm glad I toted the ice axe. (edited for spelling) | |
