It was a perfect weekend here at Brazil these last days.
The objective was to reach some pretty unknown and almost never summited mountains at Sierra Fina, Minas gerais.
We did 4 summits: Pedra da Mina (2.798m.), Cupim do Boi (2.532m.), Cabeça de Touro (2.649m.) and Tartarugão (2.631m.).
The usual summited mountains are Pedra da Mina and Cupim do Boi.
The hard job was Cabeça de Touro Peak. At the summit we found a summit book established back in 1992 and since that year only 6 groups got up there, the last one in 2008!
First day: 8,3 km hike from Sierra Fina Farm (1.540m.) to the summit of Pedra da Mina (2.798m.). We had to carry all the way up food and water. 20kg.
Second day: 13,2 km hike/ climb from the summit of Pedra da Mina (2.798m.) to Cupim do Boi summit (2.532m.) and Cabeça de Touro Peak (2.649m.) and to come back to Pedra da Mina, 12 hours!!!
Third day: 7 km hike from the summit of Pedra da Mina (2.798m.) to Tartarugão Peak (2.631m.) and come back to Pedra da Mina summit again! After that, 8,3 km hike down from Pedra da Mina summit (2.798m.) to the Sierra Fina Farm (1.540m.).
Fourth day: Drive back to São Paulo.
THAT WAS HARD...
Tacio Philip (Professional photographer, website: http://www.tacio.com.br/), his girlfriend Paula Neiva and Edson Vandeira were with me.
