Is there any doubt this will be 4 stars when you are done? I think not.

I spent one rainy day with Mark and Natasha doing some routes including one cave one. Spent one Thanksgiving learning how to aid on the Student Wall (I think). Got to love the approach on these and you don't have that uphill hike out! :- )

Thank you very much for the good vote Mr. Jenkins!

Yeah, the uphill slog on the way out is indeed shorter (steeper?) unless of course you take the scenic way in via the bridge. Still a major slog either way ;)

(esp. if you compare this to something like Wall Street/Potash Road in Moab - drive thru. climbing heh, heh :)

Brian,

you got me intrigued with this cave thing. It was in the Lower Gorge? do you remember which side of the river (got any pics you can post; do you recall any beta?).

This look like a major undertaking and could keep you busy for quite a while. Three thumbs up!

Wait a minute - did I say three?

I look forward to seeing the finished project. This has great potential to be a killer page.

I like the idea behind it. Granted, the area's far from me, but what a great resource this will be.

You have really done your research on this one. I like the photos with the Crooked River Gorge in the background.

I had no idea as to the divesity of climbing out at Smith.

About: Leading Wildfire (5.10b) rpc has both hands in the crack and is getting some smear from the left side( photo id= 200362). Shirley at about the same spot

(photo_id__200359) ,not on lead, has the luxury of the maintaining some distance from the wall. Very nice page

Yeah, leading vs. seconding is one difference; it's also a size/reach difference (Shirley at 5'4" climbs a different route when we climb the same line ;)

Thanks for checking this out!

Thank you very much Jason!

Pretty cool (also literally ;) place with a very different crowd, atmoshphere and climbing than the main area IMHO.

Damn, you're the go-to guy for pages about trad climbing pretty much anywhere in the west it seems--NV, CA, UT, OR, the list goes on...

Not sure about that esp. since we don't pull routes as hard as we'd like....
