Yes, and I had Fred on a good belay. The really scary part was how many solo climbers and other roped teams were just blindly trusting this thing and traipsing across it like it was perfectly solid. Since no one fell through that day, maybe it was. However, we met some older guys, who were also being cautious about it and shaking their heads over the "tourists".

Holy crap :-). If somehow I found myself solo anywhere in there, I'd go way off to the left where the bridge is more substantial. That crevasse would be a horrible grave!

"Further left" was no better. There are some very trusting, naive people out there. They think (just like on avalanche slopes) if one person has passed safely, all can. NOT!

As the saying goes (with variations) "God takes cares of idiots and drunks!"
