Summit of Wedge Peak, dawn

Summit of Wedge Peak, dawn

The summit of Wedge Peak shines in the first light of morning. Taken from Pangpema, November, 1998. Peak 5950 is located directly north across the Kangchenjunga Glacier from Wedge Peak. SP member Bor has provided a link to an expedition that made an ascent of this magnificent peak.

Re: five stars

Thanks very much guys. The mountain did most of the work. I just had to get up early, something I always try to do in a special place like this, whether taking photos or not.

Re: five stars

I assume you intend to put images of this caliber in the calendar. Inspiring!

Re:Calendar?

Thanks. Is there going to be an SP calendar?! Now there's an idea...

Actually, I am currently working with these folks to get two images into their 2006 calendar. One was a prior SP Photo of the Week. The other was the one I asked about the foreground shrubs in the General board.

But there is certainly enough good stuff on SP to produce an OUTSTANDING calendar!

Re: congratulations

Thanks very much. Since you have been to this region you know photos don't do it justice, so I appreciate your words.

Re: 5 Stars!

Thanks JB, much appreciated. The beauty of the mountain made it easy - I just had to wake up and crawl out of the tent early!

Thanks very much for the kind words. I was lucky to be there to see it in person, and glad to share that with you through the picture. Take care.
