This area looks

like it's very well-watered. It is the
total opposite of what my wife and I
experience in the desert, and that's
what makes it so fasinating to me.

Well, it's certainly well-watered. Well-endowed in ticks, too, I might add.

When the trees are leafed up (as now), you have to get used to a much smaller field of view most of the time (except along bluffs). As a transplanted Westerner, it has taken a while to get used to it -- but it's not without its pleasures.
