Approach
From the parking place at lakes we reach Rif. Zacchi in 1h.Route Description
From the hut we use the marked path first in the SE direction, then it goes by the side ridge of Visoka Ponca more in the NE direction. The path is interesting, we move up by an open terrain. After a good hour the path crosses the ravine, which is coming down from the notch between Visoka Ponca and Srednja Ponca and soon afterwards we reach the crossroads. The right path ascends towards the summit of Srednja Ponca (and later also branches - one branch goes on the notch between the two peaks). If we want to climb Visoka Ponca directly, we use the left branch, which takes us steeper over rocky plates (steel ropes) into a ravine and left out towards steep rocky wall. The hardest part is awaiting us. We must climb almost vertically over some 50 meters high wall. Some 10 years ago the ropes were here missing, but now they are renewed. After the wall we reach a steep ridge and by it in many turns the main summit. Very nice, but demanding tour (a medium hard ferrata). From Rif. Zacchi 3h, from the lakes 4h.It is best to descend via the notch, where the route is also marked and secured, but is not so exposed. Or to go by the main ridge to Srednja Ponca and from there down - this path is weak and more abandoned.
