Yellowstone Lake

Yellowstone Lake When you walk among Yellowstone's geyser basins, you might think Yellowstone Lake is warmer because of them. After all, the nearest geyser basin pours an average of 3,100 gallons of hot water into the lake every day. But even here, the lake's average summer temperature is 45 degrees Fahrenheit.

Pardon me, Kathy ...

I just wanted to add that Yellowstone Lake is
the largest freshwater lake above 7,000 feet
in North America.

Also, I read that its depth drops over 300 ft
in some places.

Shocking ... I can read !!!

Seriously, this is one awesome lake !!!

Re: Pardon me, Kathy ...

Good points! Some of the stories about this lake in the Death in Yellowstone book I reviewed were really scary.

Congrats on POTD! Definitely well deserved!
