Re: I think DuchessMy friend's dog died of a lung disease.
Duchess apparently has a healthy set of
lungs and a die-hard attitude that must be
recognized and celebrated at all costs!
An inspiration for us all! Give that dog
a hug and an extra ration of dog chow!

Great!Duchess is one of our great contributors. Seeing her happy selfless devotion to mountaineering with you is a joy for all of us. Maybe the world record holder for peak bagging kanines. lol
A wonderful being

Re: Great! My great Grandmother from the old country of
Czechoslovakia had achy joints, but she blamed
it on the "curse" of becoming older.
At least she didn't have an achy, breaky HEART.

Re: Dang, thank you. she is so happy when out, but suffers the next day - licking her paws and does not want to move.... I have a hard time leaving the house without her, she is always waiting by the car....

Re: Dang,Well, at some point I suppose you will have to decide what is more cruel: leaving her at home for longer, tougher hikes, or watching her try to recover from a rough day of climbing.
One of my former pals would take his old, ailing dog hiking with us. She loved it, but would fall completely to sleep when we'd reach the top of a mountain. Then she'd have a hard time hiking back to the trail head. Sometimes I thought the best thing that he should have done was leave her at home.

Re: Dang,Get her boots to protect her paws! They won't help the joints, but that's a different problem...
