Sunny flowers in spring...
About 50 genera including 1900 species belong to the Ranunculaceae (buttercup or crowfoot family). Plants in this family mainly develop composite leaves. Flowers have many stamens and pistils arranged spirally and they are green (
Helleborus), white (
Isopyrum,
Ranunculus), blue (
Nigella,
Aconitum,
Delphinium,
Hepatica,
Clematis,
Aquilegia). The most spectacular are spring yellow flowers of
Caltha,
Ranunculus and
Ficaria. The family includes mostly perennial plants; herbs, woody climbers and sporadically shrubs. In a foreland of mountains we can often find representatives of the genera
Ranunculus,
Caltha and
Anemone. On the level of mountain meadows plants of
Aconitum,
Caltha laeta and
Trollius grow. In higher positions, in the spruce forest there is a habitat for a climber plant,
Clematis alpina. On bare rocks, near glaciers
Ranunculus glacialis try to survive. Almost in the all zones of mountains we can see members of Ranunculaceae.
It will be continued.........
