Used the standard route as our descent after doing the Kelso Ridge on Torrey's. Nice hike for scenery. Very easy.

From Torreys via Grays Peak Trail
Came over via Grays Peak Trail after climbing the Dead Dog Couloir on Torreys. Quite a few more people over on Grays Summit. Looking down on the main trail there were so many people on it they looked like a string of ants. We hiked back down to the saddle between Grays and Torreys and glisaded down maybe 1000 feet til we hit the main trail again. I had fun with our route but I think the main route would be a bit boring and crowded.

Came over from Torreys after doing the Kelso Ridge. Instead of hiking down the trail we went to the top of the snowfield between Grays and Torreys and glissaded our way down.

Lots of nanny and baby goats on the trail. They posed for the many hikers.

Standard route
Climbed Grays as well as Torreys (my 3rd and 4th 14ers) via Grays since the conditions were not favorable on Kelso ridge.
About half of the way was snow covered, some clouds built up but they lifted just in time to enjoy great views all around.

Great Starter
Great one to start out on. Uber-busy over the summer. You'll see another climber every 2 minutes if you hike on a weekend in July or August.

Lost Rat
Climbed the Lost Rat couloir on Gray's. A great snow climb! This day it was a little melted out up top, but that provided the opportunity to climb a nice FIRM snow (alpine ice) 30' face to the climbers left to gain the ridge.

My 1st 14er! My husband and I hiked this as a training climb for our honeymoon to Peru and the Inca Trail. We gots lots of weird looks from hikers because we took our large packs for practice.

This was my first 14er. I don't know the actual date because I wasn't keeping a journal at the point and didn't intend to turn into a peak bagger. I know it was a holiday weekend and the weather was beautiful so I picked July 4th weekend. We went up Grays and traversed over to Torreys. Sunny and clear all day...one of those days that hooks you into wanting to climb more peaks.
