First Winter Trip
Too wind blown to ski down. Torreys went great as a ski shortly after. Have summer climbed since, lots of friends, but good for them to get out of the city and the smoggy state of mind so I'm OK with it.

With Torrey! My first Winter climb
Tele'd the face, some of my best turns ever on my old leather Merrel black magic XCD boots and Rossi quantums. Awe the old days.

Kelso ridge to torreys, then cross the saddle to Grays
Beautiful day for a climb, a little crowded, but very friendly and interesting people.
Nice easy hike for my 6th official 14er (have also done Mt Cameron between Democrat and Lincoln). I consider this pretty much Class 1 all the way. Not sure where the class 2 hike is. From here, hiked over to Torreys to complete the day. A few clouds, but no precipitation until I hit the car. AWESOME!
Used the standard route as our descent after doing the Kelso Ridge on Torrey's. Nice hike for scenery. Very easy.

From Torreys via Grays Peak Trail
Came over via Grays Peak Trail after climbing the Dead Dog Couloir on Torreys. Quite a few more people over on Grays Summit. Looking down on the main trail there were so many people on it they looked like a string of ants. We hiked back down to the saddle between Grays and Torreys and glisaded down maybe 1000 feet til we hit the main trail again. I had fun with our route but I think the main route would be a bit boring and crowded.

Came over from Torreys
Came over from Torreys after doing the Kelso Ridge. Instead of hiking down the trail we went to the top of the snowfield between Grays and Torreys and glissaded our way down.

Lots of nanny and baby goats on the trail. They posed for the many hikers.

Standard route
Climbed Grays as well as Torreys (my 3rd and 4th 14ers) via Grays since the conditions were not favorable on Kelso ridge.
About half of the way was snow covered, some clouds built up but they lifted just in time to enjoy great views all around.

Great Starter
Great one to start out on. Uber-busy over the summer. You'll see another climber every 2 minutes if you hike on a weekend in July or August.
