Very hard day, west up east ridge and couldn't get out of scree. Started down southwest slopes and got into another scree slope. The views were amazing though.
That was fun. Loved the views from the summit!
Beautiful climb up the east ridge. If you don't mind sacrificing a slightly longer day for no crowds and some decent exposure with fun scrambling, you have to take this route.
Hiked to the summit of Mount Yale starting from Denny Creek TH. Nice weather, great views!
That ridge must hold the world record for false summits. Crappy conditions below timberline (mud bog with slush-drifts), but nice day otherwise. Trip report
Beautiful Day. 1st 14er of the season. Some snow on the route which make for some tough going in a few spots. Fun glissade on the way down. 25th Official Colorado 14er. Matt was my climbing partner.
Approached on west face, via snow slope right below the summit. Snow storm and 40-50 mph winds hit us on the summit, so we didn't stick around long.
Plenty of snow and wind up high, combined Mascot for a nice early spring outing with Jordan W. It was my second ascent of Yale.
Don't really remember too much about it.
Met some new friends on the standard route. Incredible hike!
Brought a friend up for his first 14er. Steep route, beautiful surroundings.
Ver nice hike, steep and long but good one.

Fun trip to take while on the Colorado Trail, nice to go all the way to the top instead of just over a saddle.
Started really early (woke up at the campsite around 3:45 am) but it was well worth it. Saw the sunrise at 14,000!
Scrambled up the ridge from where the Colorado Trail passes by. A nice side trip, although my stashed thru-hike pack was chewed on by a marmot while we were heading up.
Nice climb on a cool September morning. Bluebird day with a chilly breeze at the top. Left TH at 6:40 and reached summit 10:05, lots of nice fellow hikers on the trail.
I made the mistake of going trail running two days before this hike. Ouch. The whole way down was torture. Nice peak, though.
Can't even remember the hike up there, only the summit.
A relatively easy Sawatch 14er with a pleasant few first miles through the trees followed by a steep grind up to the summit ridge. The ridge required more talus-hopping and scrambling than I had expected, which made it a ton of fun. Easily the best part of the hike.
Wife, dog and I via the East Ridge. Great climb and we saw no one else all day. Headed over to Mascot and then preceeded to have a miserable descent. Shoulda followed the east ridge of Mascot back to the trail rather than heading south!
