I'll try again in summer!
I was just up there two days ago via the east ridge and after a recent snow dump the ridge was way too dangerous to attempt. Massive couloirs, 100mph winds, etc. We were postholing and bushwhacking all the way up to the ridge so we definitely got a phenomenal work out anyway! I will try again in summer or maybe go up the southwest ridge.

bad snow conditions
Absolutely atrocious avalanche conditions. We were not deterred from a summit. No Darwins awarded.

Baaa. After summitting Mt. Elbert yesterday, then partying with a bunch of hippies in the woods near the Denny Creek trailhead in the wee hours of the morning, I did Yale as a run-up with only a small water bottle. Virtually no views thanks to persistent fog.

Too much scree
Very hard day, west up east ridge and couldn't get out of scree. Started down southwest slopes and got into another scree slope. The views were amazing though.

Beautiful climb up the east ridge. If you don't mind sacrificing a slightly longer day for no crowds and some decent exposure with fun scrambling, you have to take this route.

Silver Creek
That ridge must hold the world record for false summits. Crappy conditions below timberline (mud bog with slush-drifts), but nice day otherwise. Trip report

Standard route from Denny Creek
Beautiful Day. 1st 14er of the season. Some snow on the route which make for some tough going in a few spots. Fun glissade on the way down. 25th Official Colorado 14er. Matt was my climbing partner.

Snow and Ice
Approached on west face, via snow slope right below the summit. Snow storm and 40-50 mph winds hit us on the summit, so we didn't stick around long.

Plenty of snow and wind up high, combined Mascot for a nice early spring outing with Jordan W. It was my second ascent of Yale.
