Overview

The Hand is a 160ft rock fin located in Arizona's Superstition Mountains.

Getting There

Take US 60 east to Highway 88. Take Highway 88 north about 8 miles to the well marked Lost Dutchman State Park. Turn into the park, there is a $6 day use fee here. Just past the ranger station the road forks, go left to the Cholla Day Use Area. Park here and take Trail #56 (called Treasure Loop). You will be able to see The Hand after a short distance and the main trail takes you up to a smaller trail that will take you right to the base of The Hand (it's really obvious - just keep heading straight for it).

Red Tape

$6 day use fee at the Ranger Station. $12 if you want to stay at the over civilized "campground" (35 spots available - facilities include shelters, toilets, showers, & water). Call the ranger station if you have any other questions: 480-982-4485

When To Climb

Fall and Winter are best. Arizona gets rather hot in the summer.
